    The eligibility criteria, educational qualifications and syllabus are as under:-

    1. Candidate must be a citizen of India.

    2. Age of the candidates must not be less than 18 years of age and not more than 30 years as on the date of the employment notice. Relaxation of the upper age limit will be permitted as per Sikkim Government Establishment Rules, 1974 for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Classes or Ex-Servicemen.

    3.Candidates must possess Bachelors Degree in any stream with diploma in Library Science from a recognized University with basic Computer knowledge OR Bachelors Degree in Library Science with basic Computer knowledge.

    4. Candidates fulfilling the above criteria may submit the application addressed to the District and Sessions Judge, South at Namchi. The last date for the receipt of application is 30.04.2014.

    5. Applications must be accompanied by attested copy each of:

    a) Required educational and professional qualification Certificates.

    b) Birth Certificate.

    c) Character Certificate from a Gazetted Officer.

    d) ST/SC/MBC/OBC, as the case may be.

    9. The syllabus for the written test in terms of Appendix-E (rule 9 (1) of Notification No.14/GEN/DOP dated 26.04.2001 Sikkim Subordinate Courts' Service(Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Services) Rules, 2001 are as follows.

    The eligibility criteria, educational qualifications and syllabus are as under:-

    1. Candidate must be a citizen of India.

    2. Age of the candidates must not be less than 18 years of age and not more than 30 years as on the date of the employment notice.     Essay Writing. Letter writing, idioms & Phrases /Common Error, Preposition,synonyms,Antonyms,One percentage word substitution etc.

    (b)General Knowledge:

    Knowledge of current affairs/ objective 100 Marks questions 40% will be the qualifying percentage.

    (c) Shorthand and Transcription:

    (a) Speed test will be 60 words 100 marks per minute.

    (b) 10 minutes for dictation of 600 words.

    (c) 20 minutes for transcription of the Shorthand of 600 words, allowing 30 errors.

    (d) If more than 30 errors detected entire paper to be rejected.

    (d) Typing:

    (a) Speed test will be 35 words per minute.

    (b) 10 minutes for typing 350 words.

    (c) 15 errors in 350 words allowed.

    (d) if more than 25 errors detected entire paper to be rejected.

    (e) Computer Application:

    Test in Basic Computer application.100 marks, 40% will be the qualifying percentage.

    (f) Viva Voce (100 marks)

  • Driver Recruitment : Employment Notice

    Applications are invited from candidates for filling up 2 (two) post of driver in the pay band PB-I Rs.5200-20200+2600 in the establishment District and Sessions Court, South and West at Namchi on purely temporary basis.

    1. Candidates should posses minimum educational qualification of Class VIII pass from a recognized School/ Board.

    2. Age limit :Minimum 18 years.

    Maximum 30 years as on 03/10/2013

    3. In case of candidates belonging to Schedule Tribes and Schedule Castes, the maximum age relaxation is up to five years,for Most Backward Classes four years, and for Other Backward Classes three years.

    4. Candidates fulfilling the above conditions may apply for the post along with supporting documents, duly attested and 3 (three) passport size photographs, to the District & Sessions Judge, South & West, at Namchi, South Sikkim.

    5. Applications received without supporting documents and photographs will be summarily rejected.

    6. The last date for receipt of application is 03/10/2013.

    7. Applications received after the last date 03/10/2013 shall not be entertained on any ground.

    8. Those who are already in Government service shall apply through proper channel.

    9. Candidates found eligible on preliminary scrutiny shall be called for the interview.

    10. The Registry of the District and Sessions Judge (South and West) reserves the right to accept or reject any application, with or without any reasons.

    11. No. T.A./D.A shall be paid for appearing in the interview / test.

  • Independence Day Celebration !!

    67th Independence Day was celebrated at our courts complex on 15th August 2013. The flag hosting ceremony began at 7:00 AM and the National Flag was hosted by Ld. Civil Judge -cum- Judicial Magistrate (South), Ms. Sonam Denka Wangdi accompained by guard of honour. All the staff members were present at the ceremony. BAR members and staff from Prosecution branch were also present at the ceremony. Few of the pictures taken at the ceremony can be viewed in the photo gallery of this website.
